		<description>I hear you...it&#039;s kind of like &quot;teaching to the test.&quot;  Although...if you design the test well, then teaching to it actually delivers the result you want of learning.  (Or so the logic in my head goes.)  I totally agree that one number can&#039;t describe all the facets of a person, but I like that Klout is trying to measure clout.  It&#039;s imperfect, but we can always aim to make it better.  Thanks for your comment.  BTW, I really like your portfolio, especially the pic of the faded man in front of his suit. </description>

		<description>Here&#039;s the problem that I have with using Klout scores to evaluate the effectiveness of a potential hire: Klout is tied to what I do on my accounts, and it does not take into account all of my page management activity for the clients/firms that I work for. 

While it&#039;s important to be engaged, the only way for me to effectively manage and improve my personal score is to be focused on improving that score... which inevitably means I must neglect my other duties to keep that score high. And the last thing I would want my client to think is that I&#039;m just spending all my time playing on Facebook and Twitter for my own gain. Therefore I&#039;m okay with having a little bit of a lower Klout score from time to time. In fact, you can almost see a direct correlation between how productive I am and how low my Klout score is!

With that said, I think the concept of holding someone&#039;s Klout score to the same level as one would hold a credit score is bogus just based on the fact that it does nothing to prove a person&#039;s effectiveness in working with clients or for other firms; it simply proves they are knowledgable and engaging in their personal lives. That&#039;s not to say that such a trait shouldn&#039;t be valued (it should!), but that is to say that I don&#039;t think any social scoring should be held to such an esteem without first evaluating the person&#039;s effectiveness of their work portfolio. 

In short: Klout is great for evaluating college students entering their first jobs (those with little to no portfolio), and terrible for marketing veterans who have no time to focus on Social Media outside of work...

But I digress... (sorry for the rambling).</description>
